a trip home

I went home this weekend, since my parents had just gotten back from their vacation, and I needed to do laundry, and I happened to have a whole weekend off for once. Amazing, I know. On Saturday, Mom and I went in to town, she got a pedicure, and I got my hair cut. On Sunday, Ashley, Mom, and I went to the movies to see Madagascar, which was really cute. There were tons of little kids in the theatre, but instead of screaming during any slightly scary parts, they just giggled a lot and repeated whatever was said in the movie, so it wasn't too bad. Ashley and I were still the best behaved kids in the theatre, Mom can proudly boast.

Also, the entire weekend, I had to sit and endure more "Wal*Mart this. Wal*Mart that. Wal*Mart's way better than Kmart, I don't think other stores should be allowed to put "Super" in their names, even if they are a Super Center, Wal*Mart did it first, and it sounds stupid for all the other ones." I finally told her to get off her soap box about Wal*Mart because I was sick of hearing about it, and she kept trying to argue with me until Mom and Dad had to yell at us from the other room to shut the hell up or they were kicking us out of the house. Can't say I blame them, really.

They're cutting hours at work for the month of July, so my work schedule this week sucks in the sense that my paycheck is going to be low, but is also sorta cool in the sense that I don't have to be to work as early, don't have to be there as long as usual, and I get some more days off than normal to relax and not be stressed out. We'll see if the relaxation is worth the slack paycheck.

But on Thursday and Friday, I'm going to start looking for another job, yet again. I was planning to do it soley on Friday, but Aaron somehow got that day off, too, so he'll probably just tag along with me and give me some ideas. I talked to his friend last night, who's a bartender where Aaron works, and he was giving me some ideas of places and things to work in Deadwood. Even though I'd have to pay $100 for a support/gaming license in order to deal cards or work in the cash cage or be a slot tech, or anything, really, a lot of places will reimburse you for that money, so that's not half bad, really. I just need to work on filling out the application to get my support license. I got it over a month ago and haven't touched it.

Anyway, that's about it for the last couple of days with me...nothing too exciting. Although I did finish the 5th Harry Potter book and am patiently awaiting the 6th one to come out next month. I think I'm going to pre-order it on Amazon.com, now that I'm thinking about it.

Yeah, it seems pretty silly to argue over which discount store is better, because I say screw you both...Target is god!
